Coronary heart disease
Coronary heart disease is a type of heart disease where the arteries of the heart cannot deliver enough oxygen-rich blood to the heart. It is the leading cause of death in India.
Coronary artery disease affects the larger coronary arteries on the surface of the heart. Another type of heart disease, called coronary microvascular disease, affects the tiny arteries in the heart muscle.
Coronary microvascular disease is more common in women.
Invasive and interventional cardiology
Invasive cardiology describes catheter-based and minimally invasive procedures used to treat heart conditions and abnormalities. Procedures are performed in a fully equipped cardiac catheterisation lab. These include:
- Angioplasty. A tiny balloon is inserted into a blocked artery to push plaque against the artery wall and increase blood flow.
- Stenting. Usually done together with angioplasty, a small metal mesh tube (a stent) is placed to keep the artery open.

Padam Heart Care Centre is a dedicated cardiology clinic in Dadar East, Mumbai, where Dr. Hetan Shah sees every patient personally. The clinic is designed to be calm and unhurried, so there is time to listen, examine carefully and explain each finding in plain language.
Patients come to the clinic for a first consultation, a second opinion, a review of test reports and angiograms, and regular follow-up after angioplasty or stenting. When a procedure is needed, Dr. Shah plans it with you here and performs it at her associated hospitals, then continues your care at the clinic.

Cardio-oncology
Heart care for people with cancer, before, during and after treatment, so that heart disease does not stand in the way of cancer therapy.
Dr. Shah is a board-certified cardio-oncologist who works alongside your oncology team to assess cardiovascular risk, manage heart problems caused or worsened by cancer treatment, and keep therapy on track.
